Black Sun

Rejected by the academy, Tura returns to her village and her mentor there, content to live a much simpler life than than that of a Way Walker. If she is fortunate, then maybe someone will agree to let her be their Booster, but those are grand dreams for another day. When her mentor dies, Tura begins experiencing night terrors, terrible and dark dreams of a future filled with fire and death. Her village is troubled by earthquakes and the people fear that they have angered the old gods. Until they realise that the earthquakes are caused by Tura's distress. Declared a terrorist by the government, Tura flees the only life she has known, her power wildly out of control. Her life is in danger until she discovers a Booster who says he is called to her. And Malacol is only the first of many. Seen now as a threat to the planet, with unprecedented power, Tura's mind turns to the stars, where she finds a voice as lost and as hopeless as her own. If only she can open a Way and Walk to him, maybe they could save each other. When she is trapped by a mind so warped and twisted that she cannot escape its clutches, Tura's life and power is once more under threat. And not just hers. Tura has been turned into a weapon, and her new target is a distant planet called Earth.
