Country Folk

Country Folk is a collection of three short stories, all of which are based on true events which took place in the early and mid 1900's. Each story tells of the sting and the sweetness of living and growing up in the rural South during those years. The years were hard but there were acts of kindness and moments of laughter that made life easier and worthwhile. Sadie is the story of the struggles of a ten year old girl who faced abuse at home but found kindness and protection from another family after wandering through the woods on a dark night. The First Frost is a story of how something as simple as a new pair of shoes can become something of great anticipation and of even greater gratitude. Tinker, Tut and Doo Dobber tells of the dangerous adventures of three mischievous boys who challenge the power of a raging stream.
